Simon & Garfunkel recently announced the indefinite cancellation of their summer tour.
The duo, who began their tour at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, decided to continue touring throughout April. When Garfunkel noticed that his voice wasn’t quite up to par at the festival, the tour dates were rescheduled to July.
Now, citing Garfunkel’s “vocal strain,” all tour dates have been canceled. His doctors have said to expect a full recovery, but cannot predict when.

It may be hard to believe, but it’s true: Simon and Garfunkel are reuniting for the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
The duo haven’t played together since February 2009, when they played in Ney York’s Beacon Theater. Now, they have confirmed that they are the surprise act for the first of Jazz Fest’s two weekends. This is not only Garfunkel’s first time to play at Jazz Fest, but it’s likely to be the only American tour date for the duo this year.
Some other acts scheduled to play at Jazz Fest are Anita Baker, Darius Rucker, Aaron Neville, the Allman Brothers, Better Than Ezra and Average White Band.
